About the artwork
The Reclining Forms series is a recreation of the lying human figure, fused together with the form of a leaf. The series is a depiction of different moods, attitudes, and poses embodied in nature’s fluidity, such as the sleep and restfulness of a countryside. Different parts of landscape, human, and animal synergise and evoke new images: a peaceful and graceful reclining Buddha or ancient Greek goddess. The reclining forms series, with a focus on the energy in nature, are my own contribution to the history of reclining figures, moving from "figure" to "form."
